Important SIV Notice

Meeting/Destination:

Special Interest Vehicle (SIV) Concession Scheme - Queensland

Once you have met the Membership requirements of the Monaro Club of Queensland Inc, then we can assist you in obtaining Club registration for your vehicle if you require this. Please check the Queensland Transport and Main Roads website or contact them directly for all conditions, to see if this suits your intended uses for your car. Note that SIV Concessional Registration is only available to vehicles of a certain historic age. Please also note that SIV Concessional Registration Dating Certificate paperwork via our club comes at an additional fee to the Member of $60, if same is sought before 3 months of their Membership of the club.

One of the Queensland Transport conditions is you having & presenting them with a Dating Certificate from a registered Car Club, confirming that we have sighted the vehicle including its age, and that you are a financial member of our Club.

Therefore, if you are seeking SIV Concessional Registration, then it is necessary for you to present your vehicle to one of our S.I.V.C.S. Registrars, (contact details are in our Magazine or on our website). If for any reason you are unable to drive your vehicle, one of our S.I.V.C.S Registrars can travel to you, but please be aware that there is a travelling charge, payable to our S.I.V.C.S. Registrar for this additional service.

Please give our Registrars a minimum of 2 weeks notice for your inspection, being mindful that all Committee members are volunteers, who give up their time to provide this service.

Please note that Queensland Transport and Main Roads, has increased the 15 Km.travel limit, from where your vehicle is garaged, or being repaired, to 30 Km’s, for road testing, or general maintenance, but not for any other purpose.
